BERGAMO AND FRANCIACORTA AND ITS WINE

Itinerary
1° Day Adro – Erbusco – Bornato – Passirano – Monticelli Brusati – Lake Iseo
Arrival in Adro, a lively, wine making tourist resort on the western side of Bresciano. Next stop Erbusco, where you will visit the Pieve di Santa Maria, as well as the remains of the ancient Castle with the small, medieval houses around it. A stop for a visit of the wine cellar with some wine tasting. Next destination Bornato, for a visit of its Castle and Renaissance villa, as well as the wine cellar. You then head for the Castle of Passirano. Lunch in a farm holiday centre in the beautiful Monticelli Brusati estate near Lake Iseo, where the d.o.c.g. Franciacorta and the Terre di Franciacorta White and Red d.o.c. wines are produced. Last stop for the day is: the Oldofredi Castle and the Abbey of Sant’Andrea in Iseo. Arrival at hotel near Bergamo, evening meal and accommodation.
2° Day Bergamo
After breakfast in hotel, departure for a tour of the city of Bergamo, built on two separate levels: Bergamo bassa, the lower part, that is modern and very lively, and Bergamo alta, the higher part, an authentic historical and artistic jewel. Lunch consisting of typical Bergmo cuisine in a restaurant. In the afternoon a visit to the two most famous historical houses in the Bergamo area: Palazzo Terzi and Palazzo Moroni. Return to hotel, evening meal and accommodation.
3° Day Bergamo and near
After breakfast in hotel, departure for a tour of: the Church of Santo Stefano, the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio with its ancient turret mast. Next stop Scanzorosciate, with a stop on the way there at a wine farm where you will do some tasting of the famous Moscato Rosso Passito wine from Scanzo. Lunch in a farm holiday centre in Torre dè Roveri at the end of the tour.
