Itinerary
1° Day Pisa - Torre del Lago Puccini
Your group arrives in Pisa, “the city of the leaning tower”, in the morning, and the tour consists of: Ponte di Mezzo, Borgo Stretto, Church of San Michele in Borgo, Piazza and Palazzo dei Cavalieri, Palazzo dell’Orologio, Church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri, Piazza del Duomo, Campanile, Battistero, Duomo Museo delle Sinopie, Church of Santa Caterina, and Church of San Francesco. Accommodation and lunch in hotel in place chosen. Departure for Torre del Lago Puccini in the afternoon, whose name comes from the XV-XVI tower on the nearby lake of Massaciuccoli (initially called Torre Guinigi then Torre del Turco). “Puccini” was added on to it’s original name, Torre del Lago, on December 21st 1938, in honour of the great composer who created many of his most famous lyrical pieces while he lived here. His residence, Villa Puccini, which is also where his tomb is, stands on the viewpoint of Lake Massaciuccoli. You can visit the villa, a very popular destination among tourists and lovers of lyrical music from all over the world. Return to hotel,evening meal and accommodation.

3° Day Tenuta di San Rossore by ecological train or horse frawn carriage - The Arno by boat
Breakfast in the hotel then departure for the Natural Park of the Tenuta di San Rossore, where you can choose from: 1) GUIDED TOUR BY ELECTRIC TRAIN (about 2 hours) The fact that the train is uncovered during the summer and covered and heated during the winter makes it very versatile, so the scenic tour of the Tenuta di San Rossore can be done at any time of the year. Other advantages of this somewhat unusual means of transport are that it is also very quiet and “environment friendly”. The tour covers the entire Tenuta, and you will be able to admire the many different environments, each with its own flora and fauna. An audio registration of all the historical,naturalistic and environmental information you may need concerning this “heart of greenery” is played all through the tour. OR 2) HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE TOUR (about 2 hours) Guided tours in horse drawn carriages with fast, heavy draft horses, bred right on the tenuta. NORMAL TOUR along the river Morto, natural pastures with Pisan cattle, and the agricultural areas of the Tenuta. Lunch in restaurant inside or nea the Tenuta. RIVER BOAT Trip down the river Arno in the afternoon in a comfortable boat and admire the National Park, and see the city of Pisa from “another point of view”. There is a choice of mini cruises, all enabling you to admire both the beauty of the nature and the historical buildings of the city. TOUR OF THE LUNGARNI AND NATURE mini cruise of the city as far as the Tenuta di San Rossore – minimum group number 25, lasts about 1hr 30 mins. USEFUL INFORMATION: The boat takes up to 70 passengers, and there is both bar service and WC on board
