GARGANO AND TREMITI ISLANDS

1° Day Gargano

Late afternoon arrival of your group in one of the most characteristic places of the Gargano. Welcome cocktail on your arrival at the hotel, then evening meal and accommodation.

2° Day Vieste - natural reserve Foresta Umbra

Full board in hotel. In the morning a sightseeing tour of Vieste, on a picturesque promontory with a Castle, and also the ancient Church of Santa Maria. (We suggest, should guests wish, the boat excursion to the sea grottos, that has to be organized by the hotel but paid for by guests). Return to hotel for lunch. In the afternoon departure for the Foresta Umbra, then on to Peschici for a short stop at the modern centre for beach holidays, with a magnificent view of the old part with its characteristic houses with their dome like roofs. Return to hotel for evening meal and accommodation.

3° Day Tremiti Islands

Breakfast in hotel. Departure in the morning for Rodi Garganico, embarkation on the motorship for a tour of the Islands of Tremiti (Island of San Domino, San Nicola, then the sea grottos). Lunch in restaurant. Return to hotel for evening meal and accommodation.

4° Day Gargano - Monte Sant'Angelo

Breakfast in the hotel. The whole day will be spent touring Gargano. The scenic, coastal road takes you to Manfredonia “the door of Gargano” with its very important Romanesque churches of San Leonardo and Santa Maria di Siponto, but don’t forget to go and see the church of San Domenico and the castle overlooking the port. Lunch in a restaurant. In the early afternoon the first destination is Monte Sant’Angelo: the sanctuary of San Michele with the grotto of the Archangel, and the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Maggiore with the tomb of Rotari right next to it. You then head for San Giovanni Rotondo, destination of many pilgrims who believe in the thaumaturgical fame of Padre Pio. The ancient churches of the Rotonda and of S.Onofrio, as well as the humble convent of Padre Pio are in contrast with the new, large sanctuary and the other modern,pretentious buildings. Return to hotel for evening meal and accommodation.

5° Day

Breakfast in hotel. End of services.
