The crossing to Portoferraio takes approximately one hour, and as you enter the port its magnificent fortress will appear before you, standing proud on top of the ancient basin shaped like a horseshoe, as though opening its arms to welcome You. 2° Day Island of Elba

Full board in hotel. Morning: at approximately 9 o’clock you will meet your guide, if you have booked one, then departure for a visit to Napoleon’s Villa in San Martino, his summer residence during his exile, in the green valley bearing the same name. You will then head for the eastern part of the island where you can see what remains of the iron mines. Then a short stop at the scenic “Grotte” from where you will be able to admire the breathtaking view of Portoferraio. A visit to the Giannini collection of minerals and semi precious stones in Porto Azzurro. In the afternoon departure for the western coast, following this route: Procchio, then the small, beautiful sea town of Marciana Marina with its tourist port on the north coast, then Marciana, standing at 370 mt above sea level, surrounded by chestnut trees and holm-oaks, with it’s unforgettable view of the valley below. You will then head for Sant’Andrea, Chiessi and Pomonte, following the road with terraced vineyards on either side that slope down towards the sea, then on to Fetovaia, Seccheto and Cavoli until you reach Marina di Campo. Thanks to the very long, white sands beach, this town is the most popular tourist resort on the island. Short stop to do as you please. You then start off again, going past the monument (with a view of the two gulfs) in the direction of Lacona. A stop at a farm for some wine tasting along the way.

3° Day Island of Elba

If you wish, you can visit the Palazzina dei Mulini, Napoleon’s most important winter residence. If there is time left, there is a wide choice of options you may wish to visit: the Botanical Garden, the Giardino dell’Ottone, the “Foresiana” Picture Gallery, the” San Giovanni” Spa with its herbal shop, important for the exclusive production ofseaweed and marine plant decoctions. We also suggest the M2 Aquarium in Marina di Campo:it is one of the most complete Mediterranean aquariums in Europe, and is home to more than 150 different species of fish and live marine organisms in about 40 tanks.
