TRUENTUM, AMIDST BOURBONS AND SARACENS

1° Day Offida – San Benedetto del Tronto

Early afternoon arrival of your group in Offida, the ancient heart of the pre Romans of the Piceni (ancient inhabitants of the southern part of the Marche), a secluded town on a ridge on the hills between Tesino and Tronto, with a very strong atmosphere. It is the memory of a different Italy, of the days when the women of Offida sewed their lace pillows at the door of their house, alternating their chatting with the ticking of the bobbins. Tour of the town with a visit at the Museo del Tombolo, then on to the Riviera delle Palme of San Benedetto del Tronto, and a tour of the town centre. Departure for your hotel in Montefiore dell’Asolo for your evening meal and accommodation

2° Day Ascoli Piceno – Civitella del Tronto

After breakfast in the hotel, departure for Ascoli Piceno, where you will visit its medieval centre still in perfect condition, and the Piazza del Popolo, considered by everyone one of the most beautiful in all of Italy. You will be free to tour the town centre starting from the famous Caffè Meletti, best known for its “Anisetta” (Anisette)that is normally taken as a digestive liquer. Then on to Piazza Arringo and the Church of San Francesco. Next destination Civitetella del Tronto, where you will have lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit the Fortezza Borbonica, 30.000 square metres of monument buildings that make up the biggest Military Fortress in Europe, where inside you can see the museum of weapons and antique maps. Return to hotel for evening meal and accommodation.

3° Day Fermo

Breakfast in hotel, then departure for the extremely old and very suggestive town of Fermo, where you will visit the Dome, the Piazza del Popolo, and the Palazzo dei Priori. You will then head for a restaurant along the coast for your “sumptious fish meal”.
